The story of CROWD and The Fight Club

CROWD Is In Da House!

CROWD (Croatian Web Developers Association) is a non-profit NGO established with a purpose of promoting and advancing the role of web developers and other professions and professionals associated with the Internet, development of web, web applications and web services, along with web design, online promotion, marketing, social media, hosting, consulting and other web related services. CROWD also promotes information technologies, information society, broadband internet and principles of
e-inclusion, e-democracy and e-government.

CROWD Takes You To The Fight Club!

The Fight Club is a new project that promotes the web culture, new media and technologies. This unique event presents a clash of ideas, products and technologies that are represented by Fighters divided into two (or more) teams. However The Fight Club is so much more - it is a point of meeting, socializing and having fun!

IDEA That Rocks The Fight Club!

The Fight Club idea was set in motion by Lili Rodić, CROWD's president, with a clear wish to organize free entry events that introduce modern technologies and media to a broader public.

The Fight Club is a recurring event with educational and fun features, that bring together new technologies professionals and enthusiasts, as well as lurkers who want to learn new things in a simple and friendly way.

The Fight Club focuses on education, but it is also about socializing and networking, sharing connections and meeting new business partners.

The Fight Club Project

The Fight Club features two teams of experts/enthusiasts in a particular topic of The Fight Club and the Moderator (a public figure, still undecided about the particular topic), and they all engage in a verbal duel that is The Fight Club. The Fight Club lasts for 1,5 to 2 hours, depending on the topic and the discussion dynamics.

The Fight Club teams include two to four Fighters, who are either or both technology experts, evangelists, public figures and average users. Fighters are expected to present their knowledge, experiences and opinions in an interesting and entertaining manner and to engage the audience in participating in The Fight Club.

The Fight Club aims to show the Audience both positive and negative sides of technologies or ideas and to give them an opportunity to try out new technologies or products in question.

The Audience is divided into three parts: two parts have already decided prior to coming where they stand and one part that has not made up their mind yet. At the end of The Fight Club the number of those that have chosen or changed sides is noted. The Audience has a chance to participate, cheer, throw stress balls, use megaphone to articulate opinions and get engaged in any other form of participation under the supervision of the Moderator.

The Fight Club is all about top-notch Fighters, on a specific topic, giving a real show (set design, lights, sound) and so much more!
